I was quoted in Forbes Magazine. I’m still pinching myself.
The piece is about “selective luddism”: choosing analog activities over digital convenience, on purpose. Vinyl over streaming. Paper calendars over apps. Attention treated as something worth protecting rather than spending.
I talked about self-care looking less like a bubble bath and more like guarding your ability to focus. It’s a theme that runs through my own practice too. Slowness. Intention. Making space for the things that ask more of us, because they give more back.
How I got here
Over the past year I’ve been ruthless with my time, mainly because it’s the one resource I can’t buy more of. It started when I realised that in my quest to become a painter, I’d actually become a content creator. And a mediocre one at that.
So I stepped back from socials. I went full hermit in the studio. And this month, the results are in:
- A New York show, Rare Art Exhibition at Positive Exposure Gallery
- An August show in Italy, at the botanical gardens
- Two books in progress
- A quote in Forbes
Great things happen when you start treating time as the precious, limited commodity it is.
